Ashley Almon was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Bonnie and Rick Almon, alongside her older sister Diana. Her performing journey began at age four when her mother enrolled her in ballet classes. A year later, she appeared on stage at the Jubilee Auditorium in the high-profile production of 'A Little Mermaid.' At twelve, Ashley wanted to return to performing and joined the Youth Singers, who performed internationally and annually at the Calgary Stampede, but she left after a month because she disliked it.
Her talent remained largely untapped until she started modeling at fifteen. Ashley's first catwalk was for TIGI in Calgary, and her photo appeared in the local newspaper alongside a fashion article titled 'Female Allure.' Modeling became a focus that year, and she also took her first drama class. Before finishing the class and her final performance, her teacher advised her, "Make sure in high school you take more drama classes, and with acting, never stop." Ashley was surprised but knew that Art, Drama, and English were her strongest subjects.
In high school, Ashley took Drama but found it too technical and was bored by its history and paperwork. She continued modeling and moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta, at seventeen. At eighteen, she began building her portfolio as an independent model, doing an extreme truck calendar, lingerie shoots, fashion photo shoots, and bikini modeling in Puerto Vallarta with Ujena in 2006. Grateful for these experiences, she worked hard and approached each photo shoot creatively, collaborating closely with photographers. In 2007, she modeled again for Ujena in Puerto Vallarta for two weeks and continued working locally after returning home.
In 2008, Ashley joined a talent agency for modeling and was also listed for acting opportunities, which she embraced. She took an audition and acting workshop and landed a background role as a dancer in the made-for-TV movie "Confessions of a Go-Go Girl." In 2009, she was cast as Candice in the short horror film 'Sisters,' which explored sororicide and the intense bond between sisters. In 2011, Ashley signed on to another indie project, "Lost and Found," a short thriller. Since then, she has fully immersed herself in acting, which she describes as her therapy.
