Ambrae Jamae is an Australian actor with a diverse range of film, television, and theatre credits, including The Claremont Murders, McLeods Daughters, Beautiful, Bad Boy Bubby, Shine, Chuck Finn, and stage roles in Cats and 42nd Street. Born and raised in South Australia as the youngest of eight siblings and a twin, she draws from a diverse heritage with her father of Seychellois and African descent and her Irish mother. Ambrae trained extensively as a dancer, earning a teaching diploma while supporting herself through school, which enabled her to focus on acting. She attended a double degree in acting and dance at the College of Advanced Education before receiving a scholarship for an international film project at The Actor’s Studio in New York in partnership with PACE University, where she worked alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Matthew Broderick. In addition to acting, Ambrae is a director, producer, casting director and choreographer. She is a proud mother of three adult children, all of whom are credited actors in film and theatre. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with notable actors such as Ben Mendelsohn, Michala Banas, Myles Pollard, Kylie Minogue, Peta Wilson, and Sullivan Stapleton, and prominent directors including Peter Andrikidis, Robert Downey Sr., Scott Hicks, and Rolf de Heer.
