Tamara Almeida is a bilingual actor and producer from Toronto, Canada, with Chilean and Ecuadorian heritage as a first-generation Canadian. She discovered her love for performing early on, landing her first role as Annie at age 10 in school productions.
After finishing school, Tamara pursued a successful career in Sales and Business Development at a Fortune 100 company. Despite her achievements, her passion for acting led her to switch careers and undergo intensive training.
Her breakout role was Anna in the Hallmark TV movie Entertaining Christmas, starring alongside Jodie Sweetin and Brendan Fehr. Since then, she has built an impressive resume with roles in Secrets at the Inn (Lifetime), Far Cry 6 (Ubisoft+), Cupids on Beacon Street (Incendo), Revenge Delivered (Prime Video), Degrassi: Next Class (CTV), Odd Squad (TVOKids/PBSKids), Good Witch (Hallmark), Heroes Reborn (NBC), and Warehouse 13 (SYFY). Tamara has also produced and co-produced several short films that have screened at festivals worldwide. Recently, she portrayed Young Grandma Tess in the AppleTV+ reboot of the beloved children’s series Ghostwriter. Her voice work includes Maria Mariposa in Joe Murray’s animated series Let’s Go Luna, alongside Judy Greer and Saara Chaudry.
Upcoming, Tamara will recur as Maria García in the highly anticipated, mission-driven series Jane, inspired by Dr. Jane Goodall’s work. Created by Emmy Award winner J.J. Johnson, Sinking Ship Entertainment, and the Jane Goodall Institute, Jane follows a 9-year-old environmentalist on adventures to save endangered animals with her friends and Greybeard the chimpanzee. The series is streaming globally on Apple TV+. Tamara will also lend her voice to the upcoming Total Drama Island on HBOMax, premiering in North America in Summer 2023.
Beyond acting, Tamara is passionate about tech, travel, and food. She stays active through rock climbing, boxing, ice skating, and other outdoor pursuits. She is also an advocate for mental health initiatives.
