Suzanne Collins was born on May 25, 1978, in Liverpool, England. She is a professional actress with nearly two decades of experience. Throughout her career, she has been cast in numerous television shows, films, and theatre productions, including both comedy and intense psychological dramas, earning significant praise and acclaim.
Raised in the North End of Birkenhead, Suzanne developed a passion for singing, dancing, and acting from an early age. By the age of two, she was already performing in pantomimes, musical shows, and competitions.
She studied A Level Performing Arts—focusing on Dance, Drama, Music, English Language, and Literature—at Birkenhead Sixth Form College. Encouraged by her drama teacher, Drew Rowlands, she auditioned for the role of Nikki Shadwick in Channel 4’s popular soap opera Brookside. Through this role, Suzanne explored many contemporary issues in a variety of challenging performances, earning a special place in the hearts of fans.
After leaving Brookside, Suzanne took time off to become a mother to her daughter, Mya. She later appeared as Sue Gilmore in the BBC One series Doctors. In spring 2007, she secured the role of Davina Coulson in ITV1’s drama series The Bill.
Suzanne has also starred in numerous feature and short films, including Charlie Noades RIP, written by and starring Neil Fitzmaurice of The Office, Phoenix Nights, and Peep Show, where she played Neil’s fiancée Sarah; this film was showcased at the Cannes Film Festival. Additionally, she has presented Wish You Were Here for ITV1 and Xchange for the BBC.
She received widespread critical acclaim for her role as Maggie in the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool’s hit comedy Brick Up the Mersey Tunnels, which broke box office records and returned with the original cast for six consecutive years by popular demand.
Suzanne was highly praised for her performance of the "My Angry Vagina" monologue in the renowned Vagina Monologues, supporting V Day with empathy and excellence.
In 2012, she won the Best Actor Award at The Liverpool Write Now Festival for her portrayal of Lucy Russell in Ian Moore's two-handed psychological thriller Catfish Therapy.
Beyond acting, Suzanne is dedicated to charitable work, modeling, and hosting events. She serves as an ambassador for the Liverpool Marathon, which she ran in honor of her late mother, Carolynne Collins.
