Biografia
Canadian Vincent Thomas has been involved in the arts for nearly 30 years. A genuine "multi-potentialite," he works as an actor, stage director, fight director and performer, trumpet player, and opera producer.
Vincent grew up in an artistic family: his mother was an international opera singer, and his father was a stage director. His great-grandfather, a bandmaster for the Peterborough Temple Salvation Army band, introduced him to brass instruments early on. His parents also arranged occasional horseback riding lessons. Throughout high school, he participated in bands, sports, and theatrical productions. He was active as an Air Cadet, earning numerous accolades, and studied Kendo for two years.
He studied Jazz, focusing on trumpet and voice, at Humber College for the Performing Arts in Toronto. While there, he landed a role as a royal trumpeter at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. Drawn by the allure of "knighthood," and leveraging his experience in acting, sports, kendo, and horseback riding, he began knight training within a few months. He remained with Medieval Times for nearly seven years, becoming champion during the last three.
During this period, Vincent played trumpet with various Canadian jazz, rock, and Latin bands, including Juan Miguel, Anthony V e su Escalada, Primal Therapy, Hammerthumb, and 47 Ronin. Seeking new challenges, he continued these musical pursuits while broadening his artistic horizons.
A versatile individual with diverse skills, Vincent soon began booking acting roles in stage, film, corporate, commercial, stunt, and television productions.
To maintain his combat skills, he trained with several stage combat groups and earned Advanced certification from the Academy of Fight Directors Canada. He has also collaborated or trained with members of Rapier Wit, Scallagrims, the International Order of the Sword and Pen, and the Knights of Valour. His credits include numerous fight director and performer roles.
In 2010, Vincent directed his first main stage production, Mozart's Don Giovanni, for Pellegrini Opera in Ottawa. After several successful shows, he was appointed Artistic Director in 2014, overseeing nearly a dozen productions until the company dissolved in 2022 due to COVID-19 related challenges.
Vincent continues to thrive in his multifaceted artistic career and currently lives in a lively home in Toronto.
