Linda Yellen is a director, writer, and producer renowned for her contributions to television and independent film. She created her first film, a 10-minute short titled Prospera, during her sophomore year at Barnard College, earning third prize at the New York Film Festival, just behind works by Martin Scorsese and George Lucas. Since then, Linda has built a successful career as one of the leading women directors, writers, and producers in the industry.
Throughout her career, Linda has produced twenty-seven films for both large and small screens, including two of television's highest-rated movies: Playing for Time, featuring Vanessa Redgrave, and The Royal Romance of Charles and Diana. Her films have been distributed by Columbia Pictures, Disney, Universal, Showtime, CBS, NBC, and ABC.
Her projects have received numerous accolades, including two Peabody Awards, seven Emmys, one Lumina, one Silver Nymph, and two Christophers. They have been showcased at major film festivals such as Cannes, Toronto, Sundance, New York, Aspen, Banff, Palm Springs, Hamptons, and Deauville.
Linda has collaborated with—and formed friendships with—remarkable talents including Arthur Miller, Anthony Hopkins, Vanessa and Lynn Redgrave, Diane Keaton, Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minnelli, Gena Rowlands, and Jacqueline Bisset. She continues to work with a new generation of stars, starting with her films Fluidity and One Stupid Thing.
