Biografia
Juan, a Venezuelan-born pianist, composer, producer, and orchestrator, launched his music career in 2000 and has since earned four BMI Film & TV Awards for his work on Hulu's 'East Los High,' a series that garnered six Emmy nominations, as well as for projects with NBC/Telemundo Network.
Early in his career, Juan worked as a Recording Engineer with Colombian artist Shakira on her Multi-Platinum album 'Laundry Service' and contributed as a keyboard player and arranger for the band Bacilos on their Double Grammy Award-winning album 'Caraluna.'
Now based in Los Angeles, California, Juan is recognized as a versatile and dynamic composer and songwriter for film and television. His recent credits include seasons 1 through 5 of Hulu's 'East Los High' and the series 'Matador' for Robert Rodriguez's El Rey Network, earning him a Hollywood Music in Media Awards nomination for best score. He also composed for 'El Señor de los Cielos' seasons 7 to 9, NBC/Telemundo's highest-rated series, and Netflix’s top series 'La Reina del Sur' season 3.
In 2018, Juan co-founded Voodoo Tracks, serving as its creative director and CEO. The company specializes in producing high-quality traditional and contemporary Latin American music for TV, film, and documentaries. In 2023, Voodoo Tracks partnered with Audio Network, becoming its leading Latin music provider with a worldwide client base and distribution network.
That same year, Juan took on the roles of executive producer, music supervisor, and co-producer for the soundtrack of the film "La sombra del sol," which was nominated to represent Venezuela as 'Best International Feature Film' at the 96th Academy Awards in 2024.
In 2025, Juan celebrates 25 years of a successful and prolific music career.
He holds a degree in Film Music Composition, Arranging, and Orchestration from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
