Biografia
Adam was raised in East Kilbride, Scotland, where he joined the local East Kilbride rep theater company—the same place where fellow Scottish actor John Hannah began.
His enthusiasm for acting continued throughout his youth, leading to his acceptance into Glasgow's renowned RSAMD immediately after high school. Following the path of other distinguished Scottish actors like Billy Boyd, David Tennant, Daniela Nardini, and Robert Carlyle, he earned a BA in Acting after three years.
While still in his final year, Adam landed his first professional role in the well-known Kings Theatre Panto alongside Elaine C. Smith and the late Gerard Kelly. During his last year at college, he was also discovered and cast in Channel 4's fictional boy-band mockumentary, Boyz Unlimited (1999), featuring James Corden.
After some time in London, where he established his own theater company, "Jockney Productions," and wrote his debut play, "Disintegration," Adam was cast in the World War II epic POW film, To End All Wars (2001). Filmed in Hawaii with a prestigious cast including Kiefer Sutherland, Robert Carlyle, and James Cosmo, the movie also introduced him to his future wife, Michelle Kath, who was visiting her stepfather Kiefer Sutherland on set.
Following To End All Wars (2001), Adam returned to the UK and appeared in several television series such as Hollyoaks: Movin' On (2001), As If (2001), Holby City (1999), and notably as the bleached-blonde air steward Will O'Brian in Mile High (2003).
After splitting his time between London and Los Angeles for several years, Adam married Michelle in Edinburgh and ultimately settled in Los Angeles in 2005.
Since then, Adam has participated in various US television and film projects, including Painkiller Jane (2007) with Kristanna Loken, National Lampoon's Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj (2006), The Summit (2008) alongside Christopher Plummer, Rachelle Lefevre, and James Purefoy, and the award-winning The Day of the Triffids (2009) with Dougray Scott, Eddie Izzard, and Joely Richardson.
2011 is poised to be Adam's most significant year yet. At the end of 2010, he secured his first leading film role as Lloyd Buist in the adaptation of Irvine Welsh's acclaimed novel Ecstasy. This highly anticipated film, Ecstasy (2011), also starring Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) and Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings), is scheduled for international release at the end of 2011.
In another major life event, Adam recently welcomed his second child, baby Quinn Sinclair, joining six-year-old Hamish Sinclair as siblings.
