Biografia
John Stuckmeyer has built a diverse career in film and television production over more than 40 years. He co-wrote and co-produced the top-grossing independent film of 1982, "The Sword & the Sorcerer." As a Producer and DGA Production Manager, John produced around two dozen long-form projects for networks including USA, ABC, Starz, MTV, and TNT.
In his role as a Production Executive in film, John served as VP of Production, overseeing projects for Disney and The Completion Bond Company, collaborating with directors such as John Woo, Sam Shepard, and Gus Van Sant. In television, he held executive positions at HBO (working on Citizen X, Fatherland, Tyson) and Warner Bros. Television (supervising One Tree Hill, Everwood, Nip/Tuck, The Closer). He was also a senior executive at MRC, managing TV shows like Surviving Suburbia (ABC), Rita Rocks (Lifetime), The Ricky Gervais Show (HBO), Life & Times of Tim (HBO), and the development phase of House of Cards (Netflix). In July 2014, John joined Universal Content Productions as Senior VP, overseeing series such as The Magicians, Imposters, Channel Zero, Shooter, Impulse, Pearson, The Act, Dr. Death, Brand New Cherry Flavor, and Chucky (for platforms including YouTube Originals, Hulu, USA, SyFy, Peacock, and Netflix). His work has taken him to locations including Charleston, Salt Lake City, Wilmington, New Orleans, New York, as well as international cities like Vancouver, Toronto, Winnipeg, Cape Town, Prague, and Budapest. John left UCP to become a Partner at ML Snowden Media, where the company focuses on developing both scripted and non-scripted content.
He is a proud member of the Directors Guild of America and the Television Academy.
