Biografia
Franklin Tate Ammons was born on February 4, 1977, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to Richard and Brenda Ammons. After his father retired from the Navy, the family returned to Franklin, Tennessee, near their ancestral roots. Like his two older brothers, sports played a significant role in his childhood. He earned a soccer scholarship to Western Kentucky University. He also attended East Tennessee State University, where he joined the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, and later graduated with a finance degree from Middle Tennessee State University.
During college, he worked part-time at a local movie theater, tearing tickets, making popcorn, and watching numerous films, which ultimately diverted him from a career as a financial advisor. After serving as Mark Ruffalo's photo double in The Last Castle and taking two years of acting classes, he relocated to Los Angeles. His debut role was on Days of Our Lives. He then moved on to more intense characters: a criminal on Justified, an addict on Ray Donovan, and an outlaw on Shadow On The Mesa.
More recently, he has focused primarily on filmmaking. His first feature film, Devil's Darlin', is in post-production and slated for release in early 2024. He had the joy of collaborating with his son, Jack Ammons, and daughter, Pearl Ammons, on the project. This transformative experience was made possible by his production partner and wife, Andrea Orbeck.
