Biografia
Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, he studied business at the University of Western Ontario for four years before suddenly purchasing a one-way ticket and boarding a Greyhound bus. After a 64-hour journey, he arrived at the corner of Hollywood Blvd. and Highland Ave., a location that would become very familiar to him. He immediately enrolled at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Over the following years, his residences varied widely—from hostels and rental cars to couches, the stage, and even the backseat of a 1987 Cadillac—but the theater became his true home. There, he honed his craft scene by scene, play by play, mastering every aspect of theater production. Upon graduation, he accepted the opportunity to direct and perform two roles in Neil LaBute's BASH-3 Plays, earning Best Actor and Best Director nominations from the Backstage Garland Awards. Since 2005, he has continued to bring compelling stories and characters to life, aiming to move audiences, provoke thought, and inspire change. Many of the plays he has produced, directed, or performed in—including Los Muertos, Junebug versus Hurricane, Burn This, and The Chicago Conspiracy Trial—have garnered critical acclaim from outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Backstage, and LA Weekly, achieving both artistic and commercial success. He maintains a steady acting career and feels fortunate to have been cast in feature films like Dysmorphia and Redland—the latter a 2010 Independent Spirit Award nominee and Best Feature winner at the Raindance Film Festival—now recognized for their artistic value. Recently, he spent 56 days living off the land in the high desert 25 miles outside Boulder, Utah, preparing for a role that he then performed 1,500 feet above the town on a mesa, playing to sold-out audiences.
