David S. Robinson Hicks (born October 30, 1995) is a young professional raised in a family of entertainers and philanthropists affiliated with Team United. Since his stage debut in "The Magic Of The Dream" for LA's Best After School Program at UCLA's Royce Hall, David has consistently balanced his social outreach commitments with his performance ambitions. From a young age, he has shaped his identity as a vaudevillian performer and master of ceremonies, adeptly navigating various artistic mediums. Additionally, David is a skilled dancer, musician, writer, designer, producer, and filmmaker.
He has performed in numerous theatrical productions across the country, a creative freedom he achieved after landing long-running national commercials early in his career, representing brands like MetLife, Revolt, and McDonald's. As a member of the Metropolitan Opera's Children's Chorus under the direction of Elena Dorya, David continues to be a prolific singer-songwriter, working on his debut album, "Rhyming In The Universe."
David’s career shifted significantly when he developed a passion for the technical aspects of theater and film, nurtured by his extensive backstage experience with his family's productions and the Young Actors Project. In 2014, he served as assistant to Musical Director Rahn Coleman for "Kiss Me, Kate" at the Pasadena Playhouse, starring Wayne Brady and directed by Sheldon Epps.
He won the 2005 Young Performer of the Year award for his live charitable performances throughout Los Angeles and accumulated numerous accolades during periodic tours across the United States between 2004 and 2011. Touring allowed David to connect with communities in New York City, Miami, and Orlando while expanding his repertoire of songs addressing social issues affecting diverse populations.
During his tours, David debuted several songs, including the "Jackie Robinson Tribute," co-written with his uncle Dr. Geek, honoring the baseball legend’s life and career. The song premiered at MCU/Keyspan Park, the former home of the Brooklyn Dodgers, and was later adapted into "Jackie Robinson Tribute: Youth In Salute" (2013).
David began his acting training at age three after relocating from New York to Los Angeles, finding solace in classical literature. By five, he had memorized numerous Shakespearean soliloquies and earned writing credits on songs, plays, and films shared with youth communities nationwide through Team United and the Global Campus Brotherhood Through The Arts Foundation.
As a dancer, David trained with the Malibu Ballet and Performing Arts Society, as well as Columbus Dance Theatre in Orlando. He has since developed into a choreographer and secured his place as a featured performer in live shows, films, and music videos.
