Biografia
Jay Simon, a UK-born actor now based in New Zealand, was born in London to a Polish-German father and an English-Welsh mother. He has portrayed a wide range of nationalities on film and television, including English, French, German, Dutch, Russian, American, and Canadian.
His first leading UK television role was in the Restoration-era film "Good Friday 1663," part of Channel Four's acclaimed opera series, directed by Frank Cvitanovitch. Other UK TV credits include: My Family, Highlander, Holby City, Casualty, Eastenders, The Bill, Bernard's Watch, Barbara, Goodnight Sweetheart, The Knock, Murder in Suburbia, and Fur TV.
Jay notably appeared as Lionel Symon in the BAFTA-winning series Perfect Strangers, directed by Steven Poliakoff.
His UK film roles include the Jack Higgins thriller Midnight Man (directed by Lawrence Gordon-Clarke), The Empty Mirror, The Wedding Date, Heavy Duty, and Daybreak.
Since relocating to New Zealand in 2012, Jay has featured in several local and international TV productions such as Shortland Street, The Guy and Harley Show, Filthy Rich, Roman Empire 3, and Straight Forward.
His New Zealand film credits include ARA, Older, Clear Eyes: Rise of the Zombies, and Bombshell: The Sinking of the Rainbow Warrior.
An international voiceover artist with a home recording studio, Jay has lent his voice to numerous TV and movie characters in popular shows like Power Rangers (3 seasons), Finley the Fire Engine (5 seasons), Big, Big World (3 seasons), Molly Monster (3 seasons), and the New Zealand animated series Quimbo's Quest.
Recent animated feature film voice roles include Poppa, Captain, and Edisson in The Molly Monster Movie, and various characters in Mosley.
Jay has also created characters for video games such as Haze, Jericho, The Witcher, Spartan: Total Warrior, Path of Exile, We Happy Few, and Shing.
In his free time, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife Nikki, their three children, and their Border Collie, Becky, at their home in Wanaka, New Zealand.
