Max Wiedemann is a partner and co-founder of LEONINE Studios and, as Managing Director of LEONINE Holding and Co-Chief Production Officer, oversees the group’s entire fiction production. As Chief Business Development Officer, he is also responsible for developing new business areas and integrating them, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence. As Head of Artificial Intelligence, he leads the MEDIAWAN Group’s global AI activities. Max Wiedemann studied production and media management at the University of Television and Film Munich. In 2003, he founded Wiedemann & Berg Film together with Quirin Berg, followed by the establishment of W&B Television in 2010. Both companies have been part of the newly founded LEONINE Studios since January 2020. As a partner, managing director and producer, he has since been responsible for over 170 productions for cinema and television. These include the Oscar®-winning feature film THE LIVES OF OTHERS, the twice Oscar®-nominated WERK OHNE AUTOR, and various number-one hits such as MÄNNERHERZEN, VATERFREUDEN and WILLKOMMEN BEI DEN HARTMANNS. In television, he has produced series such as 4 BLOCKS (Warner TV series), DER PASS (Sky) and the first German Netflix Original, DARK, which was voted the world’s most popular Netflix Original series by the leading US review platform Rotten Tomatoes. Max Wiedemann is a member of the German Film Academy, the European Film Academy and the British Film Academy. Among other honours, he has been named Bavarian Entrepreneur of the Year and has received the European Film Award, the British Film Award, the Austrian Film Award, the German Film Award, the Bavarian Film Award, the German Television Award, the Bavarian Television Award, the LA Critics Award, the Golden Camera and the Bambi.
