Rachael Kathryn Bell began acting at age 12 after auditioning for her elementary school's musical, "The Secret Garden." It was during this production that she discovered her passion for acting, singing, and performing. Now known as "little luna," she is fully dedicated to her music career. Here's a look at her journey to this point.
At 13, she started traveling between her hometown of Pittsburgh and Los Angeles to audition for commercials, TV shows, and films. She was first signed by Coast to Coast agency, with Susan Curtis managing her career. Rachael balanced episodic and pilot seasons in LA, homeschooling while auditioning, then returning to her public school in Pennsylvania when not in LA. This back-and-forth continued from ages 13 to 18, until she moved to LA permanently after graduating high school in 2011.
Before relocating, she secured her first TV guest star role as "Addison" on Disney Channel's The Suite Life on Deck (2008) at age 15. Originally a one-episode character, her performance impressed the producers enough to bring her back for seven additional episodes over the show's three-season run.
In the following years, Rachael honed her craft at Warner Loughlin Studios while auditioning full-time. She appeared in series such as Awkward. (2011) and Body of Proof (2011), and landed roles in independent films including the Austin Film Fest Audience Award winner Speak Now (2013).
Having focused solely on acting for years, her desire to create music grew stronger. In 2018, she began attending songwriting camps for other artists and spent more time in the studio developing songs for her own project, little luna.
On October 2, 2020, Rachael, as little luna, released her debut single "shift & go," accompanied by a lyric video, music video, and a full social media rebrand. Within the first week, "shift & go" surpassed 10,000 streams on Spotify, over 15,000 streams across all platforms, and 2,000 YouTube views for the music video.
Rachael described her music as "my sonic journey through re-discovering my truest self, giving you sounds & words to do so, as you do the same." Her love for film and cinema influences both the sound and visuals of her music. Whether through film or music, Rachael continues to bring creativity to the forefront.
