Shannon Amos is a producer, storyteller, transformational guide, and founder of Zuri Retreats, a luxury travel company creating transformative experiences around the world. Her work explores the intersection of storytelling, emotional wellness, ancestral remembrance, and cultural connection.
The daughter of legendary actor John Amos, Shannon began her career under director Spike Lee on Mo' Better Blues before serving as Assistant Producer on MTV's groundbreaking Yo! MTV Raps. She later served as Assistant Producer on America's Most Wanted, developed original programming for BET's Pay-Per-View division, including a behind-the-scenes series documenting the iconic Up in Smoke Tour, produced numerous music videos during hip-hop's golden era, including projects for Tupac Shakur and Mack 10, produced independent films distributed by Maverick Entertainment, and contributed to the theatrical marketing campaigns for Warner Bros. releases including Million Dollar Baby, The Lake House, and I Am Legend.
Following the loss of her mother in 2017, Shannon documented her solo sabbatical through Southeast Asia, sharing her healing journey and inspiring a growing online community drawn to reinvention, mindfulness, and purposeful living.
Today, she leads immersive retreats, facilitates transformative experiences, and speaks on healing, resilience, and the power of remembering who we are.
Shannon is a Certified Trauma-Informed Coach, Certified Mindfulness Teacher, a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), Reiki Master, and has completed Yale University's The Science of Well-Being program. Whether producing films or guiding transformative experiences, she believes the most powerful stories don't just entertain. They transform us.
