Carl De Gregorio believes he was born with a natural urge to express himself and has steadily built a diverse creative career.
From a young age, drawn to performing, Carl seized the chance to perform at Lincoln Center's Avery Fischer Hall in New York City during grade school. Gaining confidence through theater classes and school plays in high school, he began working in educational theater and was selected in a statewide search for New Jersey’s Governor's School.
His passion for theater and acting, combined with a serious commitment, led Carl to the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama. There, lessons in work ethic and perseverance shaped his early career in New York City. While enjoying life in the Big Apple, he worked off-Broadway, appeared in commercials, and ultimately wrote, produced, and starred in his own play, Knee Deep.
Producing the play and reconnecting with former CMU classmates in Los Angeles inspired Carl to move west. Soon after, he added stand-up comedy to his skill set, performing at renowned LA venues like The Comedy Store and The Hollywood Improv, as well as comedy clubs nationwide.
As a working comedian and classically trained actor, Carl gained traction in television and film, appearing on shows such as Chelsea Lately, The Countdown, and Hollywood's Top Ten, along with roles on FX, Lifetime, and HBO.
In the podcast realm, Carl became a fan favorite on The CrabFeast, a cult classic. As an author, his 2014 book, The Drama King—a story of an artist’s coming of age, twice—is available on Amazon.
Still driven and inspired by ongoing study of his craft, Carl De Gregorio looks forward to what lies ahead, often reminding himself, "Nothing enrages the disgruntled more than enthusiasm.
