Donald F. Glut has been active in the entertainment and publishing fields since 1966. Throughout his diverse career, he has worked as a professional musician, actor, film director, executive producer, photographer, magazine editor, proofreader, and briefly as a copywriter for an advertising agency. However, he is best known for his extensive work as a freelance writer. Glut has written and directed feature films, documentaries, and music videos, authored around 80 fiction and non-fiction books, and created numerous TV scripts for both live-action and animated shows, including network and syndicated programs. His writing also spans comic-book scripts, short stories, magazine articles, and works in music and theatre. He has contributed to many well-known franchises such as Star Wars, The Monkees, Tarzan, Spider-Man, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Vampirella, Masters of the Universe, The Flintstones, Jonny Quest, among others, and has created original comic-book characters for Gold Key, Marvel, and DC. Glut is perhaps best recognized for his novelization of The Empire Strikes Back, the second Star Wars film, which became a #1 bestseller. Currently, he executive-produces, writes, and directs traditional-style horror through his company Pecosborn Productions and writes scripts for The Creeps horror comics magazine. Additionally, he serves as the Southern California representative for Las Vegas Talent Agency. Note: Any film titles credited to him before Dinosaur Valley Girls (1997) are amateur films, the first of 41 he made starting at age nine.
