Biografia
Executive Producer Danny Dimbort is one of the most seasoned film sales professionals in the industry, with over 30 years of direct experience in international film sales and 42 years in film distribution overall. He has extensive knowledge of the industry as both a territorial distributor and an international salesman.
Dimbort began his career in 1964 as a distribution executive for Golan Globus Films in Israel, where he managed the marketing and exploitation of the company's film rights within the Israeli market. After two years, he was promoted to Managing Director, a role he held for 14 years, overseeing all aspects of film distribution.
In 1980, Dimbort relocated to Los Angeles to lead international sales for Cannon Films, a major film production and distribution company of that period. Following the 1988 merger of Cannon and Pathe, he became Head of International Sales. When Cannon/Pathe acquired MGM in 1990, Dimbort was appointed President of International Distribution for MGM. He departed MGM in 1992 to co-found Nu Image Inc., an international distribution company he currently co-chairs with Avi Lerner.
Since its founding, Nu Image has earned a strong reputation as a producer and distributor of high-quality action films for both international and domestic audiences. Their catalog includes several successful creature, sci-fi, and disaster movies, along with numerous action and hero films featuring stars such as Jean-Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, and Dolph Lundgren.
In 1996, Dimbort and Nu Image launched Millennium Films to meet the increasing demand for quality theatrical releases and higher-budget action features, while Nu Image continued focusing on the home video market. Together, the two companies have produced over 200 films since 1992. Under the Millennium Films banner, Dimbort and his partners have produced and distributed many titles, including the action drama "16 Blocks" starring Bruce Willis and the upcoming crime mystery "Black Dahlia," featuring Hilary Swank, Josh Hartnett, and Scarlett Johansson, directed by Brian De Palma. Currently, Dimbort and Nu Image/Millennium Films are involved in developing, financing, producing, and distributing approximately 15 to 18 films annually.
