Biografia
Lucio Tavares is a Brazilian director who has been active since 2003 and has worked full-time at TV Globo since August 2012. Between 2003 and 2008, he lived in Paris, France, where he earned a degree and completed a Master's in Cinema and Audiovisual at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3. Alongside his studies, he also served as assistant director on various short and feature films.
From 2005 to 2008, he worked as a director, producer, and TV writer on multiple projects for Globosat channels (Multishow, GNT, SporTV, and OFF). Notable works include "Viagem Sem Fim" (director and teleplay), "Casa Bonita" (director and teleplay), "Bicicletas & Melancias" (director), "É Carnaval 2012 - Blocos do Rio" (director), "Corrida do Cristo" (director), and "Vai pra Onde/França" (teleplay and production). In 2008, he was invited to serve as executive producer for the theatrical musical project "Clandestinos," directed by João Falcão. He also directed live events such as "Vert Jam," "Oi Mega Rampa," and "Brasil Surf Pro," along with numerous institutional videos and commercials.
At the end of 2012, he began his career in TV Globo's Dramaturgy Department as assistant director, contributing to various productions. In 2019, he was promoted to program director, co-directing the Globoplay series "Aruanas" and the 6 p.m. telenovela "Órfãos da Terra," which won the 2020 International Emmy Award among other accolades. In 2021, he joined the directing team for the second season of Globoplay's series "Desalma," which premiered in April 2022. In 2023, he became part of the directing team for his second 6 p.m. telenovela at TV Globo, "Amor Perfeito.
