Espérance Pham Thái Lan is a French screenwriter, author, lyricist, director, and actress. Trained at the Cours Simon, she continued her studies with Andreas Voutsinas following a decisive meeting with Horst Buchholz, who introduced her to the Actors Studio method. Her career quickly expanded across film, television, and theatre. She has performed alongside Laurent Stocker, Thierry Lhermitte, Clémentine Célarié, Alain Chabat, Dominique Farrugia, Francis Perrin, Georges Corraface, Charley Boorman, and François Marthouret, and has worked under the direction of filmmakers such as Axelle Ropert, Patrick Alessandrin, Jacques Trefouel, Euzhan Palcy, Jean-Loup Hubert, Alain Berbérian, Daniel Janneau, Pierre Tchernia, and Liliane de Kermadec. She has also developed a career in voice acting for international productions. Alongside her acting career, she has written, directed, and produced several short films, including one that received the CNC Quality Label, and her most recent film, selected for the Short Film Corner at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival and broadcast on television channels. Her feature screenplay Dawn of the Emperors (L'aube des empereurs), registered with the Writers Guild of America, is among the winners of the 24th International Writemovies Competition in Los Angeles. Also a songwriter and the author of stage plays, including Turbulences au 103e, 24 mn chrono, Springtime in Hokkaido, and Even Queens Have a Heart, she continues to develop new projects for the stage and cinema, in an approach where writing, acting, and directing continually enrich one another.
