Randy Redd, an actor from Mississippi, is recognized for his roles in Beautiful Creatures, After the Storm, and the original Broadway production of Parade directed by Hal Prince. He has also performed in Broadway shows such as Ring of Fire and portrayed "Jerry Lee Lewis" in Million Dollar Quartet. His theater credits include Smoke on the Mountain, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s By Jeeves (directed by Alan Ayckbourn), Terrence McNally’s Some Men (directed by Trip Cullman), The Burnt Part Boys, Randy Newman’s Faust, Pump Boys & Dinettes, Allegro (directed by John Doyle), Alain Boublil’s Manhattan Parisienne (directed by Graciela Daniele), and The View UpStairs.
His film and television work features Beautiful Creatures (directed by Richard LaGravenese), The Last Five Years, After the Storm (directed by Hilla Medalia), Kinsey (directed by Bill Condon), From Broadway with Love, The Wright Verdicts, The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Tony Awards, among others.
As a writer, Redd has created works such as Sons of Levi, What’s That Smell? (co-written with David Pittu), Elkin Dab (with Robin Skye), Touché (with Blair Ross), Dan Mills’ Fiction in Photographs, The Black + White, and American Tune. His debut play, Mississippi Sugar, was developed and staged at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.
His discography includes Wearing Someone Else’s Clothes (with Jason Robert Brown), The Burnt Part Boys, Ring of Fire, Lucky Stiff, Parade, The View UpStairs, NEO, House of Love, Songs from a Failed Play, and ShowFolk with Rachel Bay Jones.
Redd’s directing experience spans regional theater productions such as Ring of Fire, Mean Girls, Once Upon a Mattress, Footloose, 9 to 5, Million Dollar Quartet, Smoke on the Mountain, Exit Music: The Pop-Rock Project, Swing Wings, Little Shop of Horrors, Extraordinary Joe, Les Misérables, Fiction in Photographs at New World Stages, as well as numerous shows for Royal Caribbean Productions.
