Gavin Ó Fearraigh is an Irish-speaking actor, MC, and model from Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland. He is best known for his role as Conall Daly in the TG4 soap opera Ros na Rún. In 2007, he won the Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) reality show Celebrity Jigs 'n' Reels, supporting his chosen charity, Debra Ireland.
Born to Sile and Eugene Ferry on May 5, 1980, Gavin has a twin brother named Keith and is one of six boys, with two sets of twins in his family.
He participated in pantomimes in Galway City with the Performing Arts School Galway, playing principal roles in productions such as Cinderella, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and The Frog Prince. During several summers, he traveled to London’s West End to work with principals from top productions including Wicked, Hairspray, Les Misérables, and Billy Elliot. Gavin also took part in a drama roadshow scouting talent across Northern Ireland for the Irish teen drama Seacht. He worked alongside Oscar nominee Stephen Rea in the TG4 documentary Flight of the Earls. Gavin has presented and appeared on various TG4 shows including Cartai Poist, Paisean Faisean, Shabby Go Chic, Angeal sa Chistin, and made numerous appearances on RTÉ’s The Late Late Show, Tubridy Tonight, and The Afternoon Show. He modeled for the Catwalk agency in Galway and for clients like Louis Copeland. Gavin founded an Irish college in the Gaeltacht called "An Chéad Ghlúin Eile," meaning "The Next Generation."
On September 6, 2008, representing Ireland, Gavin and partner Dearbhla Lennon competed in the Eurovision Dance Contest in Glasgow, Scotland, hosted by Graham Norton, with 15 countries and 64 million viewers (BBC Scotland). In 2009, he became the face of the charity Bóthar. He was a lead actor in the award-winning (IFTA) drama Corp & Anam (TG4). Currently, he divides his time between Hollywood, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, where he is based. In Los Angeles, he appeared in Cinemax’s The Girls Guide to Depravity (2011), the award-winning film Alchemy (2013), the TV series The Black Box (2013), and the movie Coast Mafia (2013). On June 3, 2012, he performed as a dancer with Cobra Starship at Miss USA in Las Vegas, and danced with Taylor Swift at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. He was a lead model in the worldwide print campaign for Transition Lenses eyewear and the face of H.wood Beauty in LA. Gavin served as Master of Ceremony for VIP Dance on the East Coast for four years before moving to Encore Performing Arts in Texas, where he hosted annual dance competitions.
In 2014, Gavin teamed up with presenter Mairead Ni Chuaig (TG4) for Series 3 of Wwoofáil California, traveling the West Coast of California to work on organic farms. The series was nominated in October 2015 for an IFTA (Irish Film and Television Award) for Best Reality and Constructed Factual TV. He continued filming Series 4 of Wwoofáil OZ in 2016, traveling with his co-presenter to six organic farms on Australia’s Gold Coast.
During the 2020 pandemic, Gavin spent three months filming in Portland, Oregon, casting on Top Chef Season 18 (Bravo). He went on to work on Top Chef Amateurs (2020), Top Chef Family Style (2021), Big Brother (CBS) (2021), BattleBots (Discovery Channel) (2021), Top Chef Season 19 in Houston (2021), The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge (2022), Big Brother (2023), and Top Chef Season 21 in Wisconsin (2023). In 2022, he was cast as the lead actor "Finn" by Breaking Glass Productions in the horror/thriller Holistay, shot in Las Vegas. Gavin returned to Ros na Rún for several months in 2022/2023 after 14 years, reprising his role as Conall Daly and adding new drama to the small Connemara village. He was also cast as the lead actor "Ian" in the upcoming thriller movie Mouser, currently in pre-production.
