Troy Mink is a Seattle based character actor, improviser, and musician with over three decades of professional experience. A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Troy discovered his affinity for performance in high school, where he began developing original characters, a foundation that would define his career. During his studies at Anderson University, he honed this craft by creating sketches and poems for the variety show "Cheap Thrills." In 1993, Troy began his formal training in improvisational theater under Roberta McGuire, a collaborator of comedy icons Del Close, John Belushi, and Harold Ramis. He has since become a fixture of the Seattle comedy scene, notably performing and teaching at Unexpected Productions. In 1997, Troy introduced one of his most enduring characters, "Carlotta Philpott," who emerged from the variety show "Insomniacts." Carlotta went on to headline her own long-running interview show, "Carlotta's Late Night Wing Ding," which garnered significant industry attention from networks including HBO and Comedy Central. In 2001, Stage Direct produced a professional taping of Troy’s acclaimed solo show, "The Haint," which was made available on Netflix & Amazon Prime. Troy continues to be an active force in the Pacific Northwest theater community, where he focuses on performing, teaching, and developing new original character work.
