Begoña left her home at 18 to study dramatic arts. From a very young age, she knew she wanted to act and often played roles in front of the mirror. Her parents are photographers, and her siblings own restaurants.
The actress Begoña Maestre was born on August 1, 1978, in Baracaldo, Vizcaya.
Begoña has worked across theater, television, and film.
In theater, she has performed in productions such as "Cyrano de Bergerac," "Women in Front of the Mirror," "Ana in the Tropics," "Kyrie the New European," and "Schubert."
Her film debut came in 2003 with the short film "Leni," directed by Luis García Gómez, where she played the lead role. The following year, she appeared as Esther in the feature film "Un año en la Luna," directed by Antonio Gárate, followed by "Alesio" in 2006, directed by Gustavo Jiménez.
Other films in her filmography include "Question of Chemistry" by Juan Moya and "I Am the Solitary," in which she portrayed Silvia Pereira. In 2011, she appeared in "Arriya," directed by Alberto Gorritiberea, and later that year starred in Benito Zambrano’s "La voz dormida," based on Ignacio del Moral’s novel about Francoist repression after the Spanish Civil War.
On television, Begoña has gained significant recognition. She appeared in guest roles on popular series such as "Paco y Veva," "Central Hospital," and "El Comisario," where she featured in four episodes.
She also held regular roles in several series. In 2001, she played Isa in "Ciudad-Sur" and joined "Compañeros" as Duna Belarde. In 2004, she starred as Tania Acosta in the thriller series "Motivos Personales."
In 2006, she gained widespread popularity for her role as Carlota Domínguez, the mystical and puritan sister of Elisa, in the telenovela "Amar en tiempos revueltos."
In 2009, she joined the cast of "Central Hospital" as a main character, Raquel Castaño Moreno, having previously appeared in a guest role on the show.
