Biografia
Raised in Azusa, California, one of Los Angeles' toughest neighborhoods, Chan grew up among immigrant families. Her childhood was filled with the scent of homemade tortillas and the sound of rustling corn stalks in city backyards. Drawn to performing from a young age, she built a strong acting foundation at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), where she studied various conservatory techniques such as Meisner, Adler, Suzuki, voice, speech, and criticism. At just 15, she enrolled at New York University and trained at the renowned Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, becoming the youngest student admitted to this prestigious performing arts school.
Since departing New York in 2007, Chan has toured globally and earned praise for her performances. In Los Angeles, she has appeared at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Her acting credits include a lead role in "Hail Satan!," appearances on CBS' reality dating show "Excused" and MTV's "Your Chance to Dance," the award-winning trailer "Kiss Before the Slaughter," and starring roles in several bold indie films. Her commercial work features a major role in a national and international campaign for the "Lord of the Rings" online game, as well as the TopStyler® infomercial. Chan continues to develop her craft through diverse acting classes, including training with the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles. Her ambition is to land more challenging dramatic and comedic roles in television and film, aiming to bring fresh stories to life that inspire, challenge, and empower people to live boldly and honestly.
Beyond acting, Chan has lived and studied abroad, immersing herself in traditional West African dance and drumming while residing in Ghana and extensively traveling throughout Africa. When not performing, she volunteers with humanitarian organizations. One of her proudest accomplishments was serving as an international observer during an armed conflict in Mexico, where she was held at gunpoint and helped save lives. In her spare time, Chan enjoys exploring abandoned urban structures and decaying relics in deserts, forests, and other natural settings. She currently lives in Los Angeles.
