Simon Veredon was immersed in the theater world during Germany's 1970s modern dance movement, with both parents involved. At 16, he began acting professionally at Theater Der Keller in his hometown of Cologne, while simultaneously pursuing music as a singer and songwriter in a popular local band.
Seeking broader experiences, Simon moved to Boston after completing his high school diploma in New Zealand. He attended Boston University, where he studied acting, directing, and playwriting in a rigorous four-year conservatory program, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1993. That year, he wrote and directed the play 'Sarah' for the Boston Playwright's Festival, which peers hailed as "the birth of a new genre in theater" for its integration of hip hop dance and original music composed by Simon.
In 1993, Simon relocated to New York City, directing and editing short, music-driven films aired bi-weekly on Manhattan Cable, featuring music from his band "Feedback." He soon returned to Germany to act and guest star in hour-long drama TV series, while also producing and directing large-scale events in Berlin and Belgium. During this period, he created new performance pieces, directed and edited the 30-minute featurette 'Hamlet' in Belgium, composed music for the electronica/pop band "Jamoki" in Berlin, and freelanced as a voice-over artist and video editor for the German TV station Deutsche Welle in Cologne.
In 2001, Simon moved to Los Angeles, where he worked as the creative video editor and lead VFX compositor on the animated film 'You Are Mine.' Since then, he has served as an online editor for numerous Hollywood TV shows including 'The O.C.', 'Smallville', 'Rescue Me', 'Desperate Housewives', 'Ghost Whisperer', and 'Bones.' In 2004, he began developing the short film 'In A Different Key' alongside writers Thora Magnusson and Trisha Lasar, co-writing, producing, and directing the project. 'In A Different Key' is represented by LongTale LLC in Los Angeles.
In 2006, Simon established InsideFilms LLC as a production company for 'In A Different Key' and as a platform for the motion picture trilogy 'Low Grounds,' which was in financing negotiations in Europe.
Starting in 2009, he worked as an editor on two leading sitcoms at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, editing over 50 episodes of 'House of Pain' and 'Meet the Browns.' Simon appreciated Mr. Perry’s approach of having editors on set during filming to provide feedback on coverage.
By 2011, Simon was drawn to Berlin, a vibrant film hub rich in history and opportunities. There, he founded FilmTruppe.Berlin, assembling a team of film professionals and content creators. FilmTruppe develops new film content, produces resulting formats, and manages licensing. Current projects include the German-language comedy 'Immer Ärger Mit Den Frauen,' a bilingual TV series set in Berlin, and a documentary feature film.
