Biografia
Pat Cashman is a multifaceted entertainer, skilled in voice-overs, acting, writing, producing, and directing.
Originally from Bend, Oregon, Pat moved to Seattle, Washington, where one of his early roles involved producing television commercials for the Seattle Mariners during the late 1970s and early 1980s. These commercials were regarded as some of the best in baseball. One notable ad from the 1981 season became a giveaway item. In it, Tom Paciorek mistakenly announces "funny nose glasses night," but Pat corrects him, explaining it’s actually jacket night. The Mariners distributed vinyl rain jackets that night, leaving some fans disappointed they didn’t receive the funny nose glasses. To make up for it, in April 1982 against the New York Yankees, fans were given funny nose glasses and could win prizes if their faces appeared on the Diamond Vision screen wearing them.
By 1984, Cashman joined KING TV's Almost Live! as a cast member, writer, director, and producer, contributing for 15 years. He created memorable characters like Uncle Buzz and Randy Scott, the Disc Jockey who also worked as a waiter or dentist, along with popular comedy sketches such as Plumber and This Here Place—a parody of PBS's This Old House.
In addition to television, Pat worked in radio. He began as the morning host on KING radio AM 1090 before moving to KQBZ 100.7, The Buzz, from 1994 to 1999, alongside Lisa Foster and Dustin Hornby. There, he developed original characters and comedic bits, including "Life With Leykis," a spoof of Tom Leykis that even Leykis enjoyed on his show. In April 1999, Pat and his morning team were dismissed by Buzz management, who felt he was "too nice." The station shifted focus to programming targeting young men, adopting the slogan "radio for guys."
Pat quickly found a new role with Fisher Broadcasting, hosting mornings on KOMO AM 1000, replacing longtime host Larry Nelson. His time at KOMO was short-lived, as the station switched to an all-news format in 2002.
In 2003, Pat became the morning host and DJ for KJR FM 95.7, but this position ended as the station gradually phased out morning DJs.
Pat also contributed to Bob Rivers' 2000 album Twisted Christmas, performing on two tracks: "The Twisted Chipmunk Song" and "Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire."
Moreover, Pat has lent his voice to numerous television and radio commercials for clients including Taco Time, the Washington State Fryer Commission, the Downtown Seattle Merchants Association, Tim's Cascade Potato Chips, and Pierre Money Mart. He has served as a substitute host for KING TV 5's Evening Magazine and hosted pledge drives for Seattle’s KCTS 9.
Beyond entertainment, Pat works as a keynote speaker for corporate events, employee seminars, awards ceremonies, and charity functions.
