Joyce Giraud is a Puerto Rican actress, model, film and television producer, and philanthropist. Born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, she graduated at 16 and began modeling while attending the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. By age 19, she earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees—one in Social Work and another in Special Education—making her one of the youngest dual graduates. Afterward, she worked with underprivileged children and public housing communities in Puerto Rico.
Joyce started modeling to help fund her university education and quickly became one of Puerto Rico’s top models, featuring in numerous national and international campaigns. She won several beauty pageants, including Miss Universe Puerto Rico, and placed second runner-up in the Miss Universe pageant. That same year, she authored the book "Joyce, Dreams and Realities." Relocating to Miami, Florida, she continued her successful modeling career and won the Miss Venus International Model Search. As the only undefeated model in the history of Destination Stardom (also known as Star Search), she discovered her passion for acting when director Vicente Castro cast her as the lead in Coralito Tiene Dos Maridos, a remake of Sonia Braga’s Dona Flor y Sus Dos Maridos. Receiving rave reviews, she pursued acting further by moving to Los Angeles.
In film, Joyce has appeared in David Fincher’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Latin Dragon, Miss Castaway, Slayer, and Jeepers Creepers 3. Her television credits include The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Heist, Joey, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, and NBC’s Siberia.
As a producer, Joyce executive produced the film Shadow People and the TV series Siberia. She is also credited as co-producer on the upcoming film Back Roads, adapted from a bestselling novel. She created and executive produces the Spanish-language reality show Rica, Famosa, Latina, as well as its companion talk show Rica la Noche, where she also serves as host.
Known for her radiant, healthy skin and hair, Joyce received Bravo TV’s "Loveliest Locks" award. She developed the Miracle Elixir Collection, a hair and beauty line featuring a unique blend of natural oils without harsh chemicals, with a portion of proceeds donated to children in need.
Joyce is deeply committed to charitable work, volunteering with organizations such as UNESCO and the YOU Foundation for Children in Need. Inspired by her philanthropy, she founded the international beauty pageant Queen of the Universe, which empowers women to promote their charity work and pursue their goals. Through Queen of the Universe, she helped establish her first school with the YOU Foundation in Senegal, Africa, championing education as a fundamental right.
