Dmitry is widely acclaimed as one of the leading Ballroom Dancers and Choreographers in the United States and internationally. He is a Star Professional on "Dancing With The Stars," an EMMY-nominated choreographer for his work on "So You Think You Can Dance," and one of America's beloved dancers.
Dmitry began his Ballroom dancing journey at age 12 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. After moving to the United States in 1999 and studying both in America and the United Kingdom, he started representing the U.S. in prestigious ballroom competitions worldwide. He earned numerous titles, became a National Finalist in 2006, and reached the semi-final and final rounds in major international competitions.
In 2006, Dmitry’s career shifted when he secured a spot on FOX’s hit show "So You Think You Can Dance," becoming one of America’s Top 10 dancers. He quickly became a favorite in the U.S. and globally, leading to choreography and performance invitations across many countries, garnering further critical acclaim.
Following guest performances on "American Idol," Dmitry was invited to dance with Gloria Estefan on the Emmy-winning episode "Idol Gives Back." This exposure led to numerous TV appearances, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly, Larry King Live, KTLA News, The View, and more. In 2009, Dmitry choreographed an Argentine Tango on "So You Think You Can Dance," earning an EMMY nomination for best choreography. That same year, he was Runner-Up Champion on "Dancing With The Stars" with partner Mya, receiving a record-breaking number of votes and becoming one of the show's most popular dancers.
Dmitry headlined the Las Vegas show "Dancing with The Stars - Live!" while continuing to appear on TV and choreograph for both "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing With The Stars." He was also invited to perform and teach at prestigious conventions and industry events, which he continues to do.
He headlined the live tour "Ballroom With A Twist," making frequent appearances across the United States. In 2013, Dmitry reached a new milestone by choreographing an entire episode of the FOX hit show "BONES." Impressed by his work, producers cast him as Kendrick Mann, a suspect in the season premiere, which became the highest-rated episode of "Bones" that year.
Dmitry has been invited back to choreograph for upcoming seasons of "Dancing With The Stars" and "So You Think You Can Dance." In early 2014, he guest-starred on ABC Family’s "Baby Daddy" as Vladimir, a Ballroom expert, while also choreographing the entire episode. In 2015, he guest-starred on ABC’s "Manhattan Love Story" and later appeared on the new Sharon Stone series "Agent X," scheduled to air later that year.
Balancing a multifaceted career in acting, dancing, choreography, teaching, and personal appearances on TV and at events nationwide, Dmitry remains in high demand worldwide.
