Biografia
In 1995, he co-founded M&M Productions with his father, Tivi Magnusson. From 2003 to 2009, he served as CEO of Nordisk Film's Film Division after being headhunted for the role. Between 1995 and 2019, he produced or executive produced over 140 films, including I KILL GIANTS, MEN & CHICKEN, ADAM'S APPLES, FLICKERING LIGHTS, THE GREEN BUTCHERS, HEADHUNTER, TERKEL IN TROUBLE, WORLDS APART, R, EVIL, PUSHER II & III, and NOI ALBINOI.
He has received six Oscar® nominations in the "Live Action Short Film" category and won the award twice: in 1999 for ELECTION NIGHT and in 2014 for HELIUM.
Kim Magnusson held the position of chairman of the Danish Producers Association for nine years—the longest tenure to date—and chaired the Danish Film Academy from 1999 to 2019. He is a voting member of AMPAS®, as well as both the Danish and European Film Academies.
In 2010, he founded Dansk Film Kompagni to develop and produce high-quality, commercially driven films for the international market. He divides his time between Copenhagen, Denmark, and Los Angeles, USA, where he has multiple projects in development, including LAST WITNESS, optioned by John Davis and 20th Century Fox, the biopic of VICTOR BORGE, INGA, and several others.
