Jules began his performing career at the age of seven as a chorister with the Winchester Cathedral Choir. Over the next six years, he toured globally, performing at prestigious venues including Sydney Opera House, London's Royal Festival Hall, and St Thomas's Cathedral in New York. By the time he was thirteen, he had featured as a soloist on seven critically acclaimed choir albums. He later earned a choral scholarship to Eastbourne College, where he concentrated on music and acting, taking lead roles in productions such as 'My Fair Lady', 'Sweet Charity', and 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf'. At eighteen, Jules secured a scholarship to Wells Cathedral, singing there during part of his gap year before enrolling at St Andrews University. There, he studied alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton, completing a Master of Arts in Art History while performing in plays and musicals like 'City of Angels', 'Follies', and 'Antigone'.
During university, Jules decided to pursue acting and applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama, earning one of 20 spots from over 3,000 applicants. He graduated in 2007 with a specialization in Acting for Screen (MA) and launched his entertainment career.
Between training and auditions, Jules worked various jobs: for an MP in the Houses of Parliament, in PR, at a headhunting firm, as a ticket taker at the Piccadilly Theatre, collecting litter at Wimbledon, and distributing flyers in Covent Garden. To help cover rent, he formed a singing group via Facebook. Just two days after their first rehearsal, Jules received a £1 million record deal from Universal Music, only six months after drama school. He went on to produce four chart-topping albums with Blake; their debut won 'Album of the Year' at the 2008 Classical Brits and went Gold within three weeks.
Blake’s third album, 'Together', earned their second Brit Award nomination. The group enjoyed global success, touring extensively in places such as the Philippines, South Africa, Australia, China, Russia, Scandinavia, and Japan. They regularly performed at venues like the Albert Hall, Olympic Stadium Twickenham, Wembley, and the Royal Festival Hall, becoming favorites among royalty and celebrities. After seeing them on TV, Dame Shirley Bassey invited Blake to perform at her lavish 70th birthday party at Cliveden House. They also performed multiple times for the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Jules later starred as the confident yet arrogant Doctor Harry Tressler in BBC One’s medical drama 'Holby City', quickly becoming one of the show’s most popular characters. With over 5 million weekly viewers, he led several gripping storylines. His departure storyline was notable for the extensive use of facial prosthetics over four episodes, a first for the series. After two years, Jules left 'Holby City' and recorded his debut solo album, 'Change of Heart', with chart-topping producer Andrew Powell (Wuthering Heights) and film and TV executive Adrian Munsey. Released on April 20, 2015, the album was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s state-of-the-art 'Real World' studio, featuring some of the world’s finest musicians.
