Bob McCullough, author of several books including "Stop Screwing Around and WIN Your Next Screenplay Contest," "Money for Your Movie: Guaranteed," and "Stop Screwing Around and Write a Screenplay that Sells," has an extensive background as Co-founder and Senior Judge at The Santa Barbara International Screenplay Awards, The Wiki Screenplay Contest ("the world's fastest"), and The Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards. Born in Torrance, California, Bob attended Beverly Hills High School, USC (B.A.), University of Texas (M.A.), American Film Institute (MFA), and Southwestern University Law School (J.D.). He wrote his first complete story, "Johnny Jet's Race Car," at age seven.
Guided early on by industry legends such as Grant Tinker (MTM Productions), Bruce Geller, Al Ruddy, Garry Marshall, Fred Silverman, and Lew Wasserman, Bob’s initial credits included production work on classic shows like "Mission: Impossible," "Mannix," "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In," "Star Trek," "The Immortal," "Happy Days," "The Odd Couple," "Laverne & Shirley," "Love, American Style," "The Sandy Duncan Show," "The Young Lawyers," "Longstreet," and his personal favorite, "Me & the Chimp." After writing sketches for Paul King on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" and Jim Parker on ABC's "Love, American Style," his production work on Universal TV’s "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "The Bionic Woman" earned him his first full writing credits and membership in the Writers Guild of America.
Following this success, Bob left his promising legal career to pursue screenwriting full-time. His career then accelerated, with script assignments from creative leaders like Glen Larson, Earl Hamner, Aaron Spelling, Howard W. Koch, and Jerry Bruckheimer on iconic shows such as "B.J. and the Bear," "The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo," "JAG," "Eight Is Enough," "Galactica," "Baywatch Nights," "Pacific Blue," "Kung Fu," "Star Trek: The Next Generation," and "Fathers and Sons." Bob’s talent for crafting innovative plots and sharp, ironic dialogue, combined with his hands-on production experience, quickly led to directing and producing roles on series including "Zorro," "Falcon Crest," "Hollywood Wives," "Dark Mansions," and "Soldier of Fortune."
He was a founding partner of MyCreativity and California Beach Company LLC and remains active in entrepreneurial marketing and internet business development. Currently, Bob collaborates with his wife, actress and writer Suzanne Herrera, to share their stories about the world of Classic TV and Film with a rapidly growing podcast and online audience.
