Matt Gallant is an Emmy Award-winning television host.
He hosted Animal Planet's popular series "The Planet's Funniest Animals" for five seasons. Although the show is no longer in production, it continues to air in reruns and reaches new audiences internationally.
Gallant has appeared on MTV, ESPN2, G4, NFL Network, Fine Living, ABC, and DirecTV, among others. He was the host of ABC's prime time hit "American Inventor." In 2008, Gallant took a break from television to pursue a career as an Interventionist/Therapist, following in the footsteps of his brother Paul (PaulGallant.com). He spent over two years working as a counselor at a dual diagnosis rehab center in Venice, California. In 2012, Gallant returned to television as co-host of the entertainment show "The List" on the Scripps Network.
Dedicated to giving back, Gallant volunteered for more than ten years with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. In 2004, he created the fundraiser "Matt Gallant's Bowling for Wishes," which ran successfully for five years and raised over $100,000 for Make-A-Wish children. Gallant was also honored as the Commencement Speaker for the University of Rhode Island's 2004 undergraduate ceremony. His inspirational and humorous speech earned him an honorary Doctorate of the Arts from the university.
Outside of work, Gallant enjoys sports and art. His talents as a sculptor and painter come from his artist father, Paul (PaulGallantart.com). Gallant has been sculpting for over a decade and has exhibited his work in galleries in Laguna Beach and Beverly Hills. Additionally, he is a Certified Life Coach, TV host consultant, writer, and stand-up comedian. He is an avid sports fan, passionately supporting the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Boston Bruins.
