Danny dreamed of playing third base for the Los Angeles Dodgers as a child. After high school, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals. Following college, where he earned All-American honors at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, the Chicago White Sox selected him. He played professional baseball until an injury ended his career. Years later, he appeared as a third baseman in the 1988 film Bull Durham.
Blessed with a remarkable singing voice, a talent for comedy, and a captivating presence, Danny transitioned into a new career. Over 15 years, he toured across the United States, honing his impression repertoire. Simultaneously, he became a highly sought-after performer in the corporate world, entertaining stadium-sized audiences for major international companies such as IBM and McDonald's. He was a favorite among Fortune 500 companies. In 1995, Danny moved to Broadway for a well-received one-man show but later relocated to Las Vegas to spend more time with his family in Los Angeles. Beginning in 1996, he performed at the Las Vegas Stratosphere Hotel, then at the Rio Hotel, and ultimately at The Mirage in 2000, where he became a permanent fixture and had the Danny Gans Theatre built for him. In early 2009, he shifted venues to Encore, Wynn Las Vegas's sister property. The marquee on the Las Vegas Strip featuring Danny Gans' image is the largest freestanding marquee worldwide. His debut album, produced by contemporary Christian music icon Michael Omartian, was marketed across both pop and Christian music genres and sold in mainstream and Christian outlets, similar to Amy Grant.
Danny's passion for entertaining was only matched by his love for his family. He passed away peacefully in his sleep during the early hours of May 1, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Julie, and their three children: Amy, Andrew, and Emily.
