Jeanette's extensive screen work includes landmark Australian films such as The Boys and Blackrock, alongside numerous TV series including Good Cop/Bad Cop, Darby & Joan 2, Upright 2, The Tourist, and Rake. She has also appeared in web series like Patricia Moore, Gut Feeling, and The Wrong Kind of Black.
Her recent theatre credits feature Queen Bette (PIP Theatre, Brisbane and The King's Head Theatre, London), Love Stories—an adaptation of Trent Dalton's bestseller for Brisbane Festival 2024, Tim—based on Colleen McCullough's novel (Christine Dunstan Productions), Who the Hell is Mirabel? (Schreiber Shorts, Theater Row, New York), Return to the Dirt (QLD Theatre), and a national tour of Letters to Lindy (Merrigong Theatre), in which she portrayed Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton.
As a scriptwriter, Jeanette won the 2022 AWGIE (Australian Writers Guild Award) for Poo Boy, an episode of It's Fine, I'm Fine, a bittersweet series about therapy that premiered internationally at Cannes Short Series, screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival, and aired on SBS Television. In 2021, she and her international collaborators received Best Original Screenplay at the Athens International Art Film Festival 08 for LockEdown Locked In, a multi-award-winning film addressing the surge in domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, she contributed Paradise is Silent, a spoken-word iambic verse poem, to Come To Where I Am, Australia, a production by Critical Stages Australia and London's Paines Plough, streamed globally.
Four of her recent plays have been shortlisted for both local and international awards: Rest, which explores domestic violence in regional Australia, shortlisted by Red Stitch, Inks, 2024, and the Alpine International Fellowship Theatre Prize, 2020; The Resistible Death and Rise of Ines de la Vera, a poignant tribute to loneliness, Alpine Fellowship, 2023; God in Space, a pandemic-themed family dramedy, The Silver Gull Playwriting Award, 2022; and Victim, which delves into sexual harassment in the entertainment industry, The Silver Gull Playwriting Award, 2020.
In 2014, her memory play Tell Me Again, produced by Eye of the Storm, premiered at Old 505 Theatre and received a workshop and rehearsed reading at London's Arcola Theatre in 2019. In 2015, Jeanette co-created Queen Bette with director Peter Mountford, a one-woman show celebrating screen legend Bette Davis. Produced by G.Bod Theatre for Mardi Gras at Old 505 Theatre, it premiered in 2015 with subsequent seasons in 2016 and 2019, and toured extensively including the Hunter Valley Summer Theatre Festival 2016, Gasworks Arts Park for Melbourne's Midsumma Festival 2020, PIP Theatre Brisbane 2024, and The King's Head Theatre London 2024. In 2017, her impious revenge tragedy I Hate You My Mother, produced by Real Harpy and Whitebox, premiered at The Old Fitz, while I Love You Now, an unromantic romance, debuted at Eternity Playhouse for Darlinghurst Theatre Company. In 2023, her one-act play Who the Hell is Mirabel? premiered at Theatre Row, New York, produced by Schreiber Shorts Festival.
