Born in Iowa, Matthew Moul is a Primetime Emmy-winning producer, editor, and director based in New York. He won a Primetime Emmy award for editing Project Runway and was nominated for an ACE Eddie award for the Starz documentary series SEDUCED: INSIDE THE NXIVM CULT. As a director, Matt's first documentary feature film about U.S. military veterans of multiple generations, SURVIVING HOME, which he co-directed with Jillian Moul, secured distribution on PBS's America ReFramed and Amazon after winning several film festival awards including Best Film at Chicago International Social Change Film Festival. From the Scene Chicago Magazine review: "The way the Mouls perceive and frame their subjects lifts SURVIVING HOME into the lofty realm of Documentary Artistry." Matt also works as an EP in post. He was Co-Executive Producer of the groundbreaking Netflix documentary series, DIAGNOSIS, produced by Scott Rudin and Lightbox in association with the New York Times. According to NPR: "Where the series really shines is in expanding the vision beyond mystery and into explorations of how being sick, particularly without much hope for any effective treatment, affects people's lives." Matt was also Co-Executive Producer and Editor of Lightbox's 2015 documentary series, THE RUNNER-UP, which was a critic's pick in the Los Angeles Times. In the feature doc space, Matt was Executive Producer and Editor of the inspirational medical innovation documentary N of 1, directed by Bernard Friedman. In the Spanish language market, Mateo was Co-Executive Producer of Netflix's MADE IN MEXICO, which The RInger described as: "MADE IN MEXICO is devastatingly effective, the kind of show you'll click on out of mild curiosity and then find yourself resurfacing from a full eight hours later." As a producer/editor, Matt has worked with HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO Max, Starz, PBS, and AMC among many other networks over the course of 24 years. He has three Emmy nominations as an editor, and was part of the bilingual team which earned a Peabody Award for KCET's groundbreaking educational series about child care, A PLACE OF OUR OWN/LOS NIÑOS EN SU CASA. Matt is a National Merit Scholar and attended the University of Southern California where he earned a BFA from the USC School of Dramatic Arts.
