Lynn Rogoff is a two-time Emmy Award-winning writer, director, producer, educator, and founder of Amerikids Productions. She is pioneering AI-assisted storytelling through Bird Woman: Sacajawea, an award-winning episodic series that re-imagines Sacajawea as a shape-shifting heroine in a magical-realism adventure inspired by true events. Combining traditional filmmaking, historical research, and generative AI tools, the series has been recognized at film festivals and distributed on streaming platforms internationally. Rogoff also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at New York Institute of Technology and as Principal Investigator of research exploring AI-powered storytelling and interactive historical character agents in education.
Throughout her career, Rogoff has created content across film, television, theater, educational media, interactive entertainment, and emerging technologies. She received national recognition for the Emmy Award-winning documentary No Maps on My Taps, which helped bring broader awareness to the Black tap dance community and earned her a Writers Guild of America nomination for Outstanding Writing Achievement.
As creator of the Amerikids franchise, Rogoff has focused on stories of young people who performed heroic deeds while young. The first title in the series, Pony Express Rider, was released by McGraw-Hill Home Interactive and received numerous honors, including a Crystal Award, a Bessie Award, the National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, and the Family Channel Seal of Quality.
Her television credits include work on ABC Weekend Specials, Sesame Street, Big Blue Marble, Watch Your Mouth, and Rehov Sum Sum, the Israeli adaptation of Sesame Street. Her theatrical work includes Love, Ben Love, Emma, based on the correspondence between Emma Goldman and Dr. Ben Reitman, which was produced by Lucille Lortel's White Barn Theatre and later staged at the Tiffany Theatre in Los Angeles starring J.T. Walsh. She has also directed numerous stage productions, including A Streetcar Named Desire, The Labyrinth, Attempted Rescue, Journey, and The In Crowd.
Rogoff earned her MFA in Directing from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts and has served as a judge for the National Endowment for the Humanities.
