Biografia
Julia Carias-Linares is a founding partner and CEO of Freedom Studios, Inc. She is a dynamic TV and film producer, actress, interior designer, and businesswoman, and brings over two decades of experience as a seasoned media executive. Julia has developed and produced content for top-tier platforms including A+E Networks, Discovery, TLC, Lifetime, History Channel, FYI, and iHeartRadio, managing over 200 hours of television. Her credits include the first seven seasons of the hit reality series "Married at First Sight" (Critics' Choice nominee) and its spin-off, "Married Life" (Emmy-considered).
She produced the feature documentary "Dear America: A Letter from Black Women" (2024), which spotlights the historical and contemporary role of Black women in preserving democracy. In 2025, she followed up with "Dear America with Shennell Barnes", a podcast and radio news show (iHeartRadio) amplifying Black and Brown voices.
Her upcoming docu-film, "Niños de Cristo" (2025), shares the harrowing yet hopeful stories of abandoned children in Latin America and the advocates working to uplift them. The 80-minute film began production in the Dominican Republic, with shoots scheduled in Mexico, Colombia, Honduras, and Brazil, and is anticipated to wrap production in 2025.
Julia executive-produced and starred in "Perception" (2019), an award-winning short drama exploring immigration. The film garnered 14 awards, including two for Best Lead Actress, and over 20 nominations. It was later acquired for distribution by Amazon Prime and PiccenPlay.com.
From 2019 to 2022, she executive produced the OMNI Cultural TV Fest in partnership with the National Association of Television Program Executives. For her efforts, she was honored by former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti for her outstanding leadership in celebrating multicultural storytelling.
Julia and her husband, Alfredo Linares, star in "Fix Mi Casa" (2025), a short-form design and renovation series featuring their firm, JCL Staging & Design, LLC. Latino Circuit TV's FAST Channel recently acquired the show. She also serves as a founding principal of Freedom Global Networks, an innovation firm focused on digital and sustainable transformation across Latin America.
A passionate community advocate, Julia supports a range of charitable initiatives and was recognized by the Westchester County Board of Legislators (2019) and Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano (2025) for her contributions to business and the arts.
She has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Mount Saint Vincent and studied acting at the renowned American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC. She is an "Executive Peer Group" member for the Television Academy - The Emmy.
She is married to Alfredo Linares and lives in New York.
