Biografia
Vsevolod Anatolevich Kuznetsov was born on June 9, 1928, in Leningrad, USSR (now St. Petersburg, Russia). His mother was the renowned actress Vera Kuznetsova. In 1949, he graduated from the Institute of Theatre, Music, and Cinematography in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). Between 1951 and 1956, he acted at the Baltic Fleet Theatre and later at the Lensovet Theatre in Leningrad. Kuznetsov made his film debut in 1954 with The Boys from Leningrad.
From 1956 until 2003, Kuznetsov was a permanent member of the esteemed Bolshoi Drama Theatre (BDT) troupe in St. Petersburg (Leningrad), led by director Georgi Tovstonogov. He collaborated with Tovstonogov for 44 years and performed alongside a distinguished ensemble of actors at BDT, including Oleg Basilashvili, Tatyana Doronina, Alisa Freyndlikh, Lyudmila Makarova, Svetlana Kryuchkova, Zinaida Sharko, Valentina Kovel, Innokentiy Smoktunovskiy, Sergey Yurskiy, Kirill Lavrov, Oleg Borisov, Vladislav Strzhelchik, Yefim Kopelyan, Evgeniy Lebedev, Pavel Luspekayev, Nikolay Trofimov, Georgiy Shtil, Leonid Nevedomsky, Vadim Medvedev, Yuriy Demich, Gennadiy Bogachyov, Andrey Tolubeev, and many other notable Russian actors. Kuznetsov served as Chairman of the Actors' Union of the BDT and Co-Chairman of the Actors' Union of St. Petersburg (Leningrad).
He was honored with the title of People's Artist of Russia and received numerous awards for his stage and film work. His filmography comprises over 30 roles, and he performed more than 100 roles on stage. Additionally, he directed several stage productions and one film. Vsevolod Kuznetsov passed away from heart failure on July 5, 2003, and was buried at Literatorskie Mostki in the Volkovo Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Russia.
