Mr. Papick is a seasoned actor with a diverse portfolio that includes numerous films and episodic television shows such as "Swans Crossing," where he was a regular cast member, and more recently, "Shameless." His recent work includes "Labor Pains" alongside Lindsey Lohan, "Lake Effects" on The Hallmark Channel, and a guest appearance on CBS's "Without A Trace." He also appears in Howard Stern's "Private Parts" and Andrew Niccol's "Simone." He has completed filming for the feature "Rejourer" and the NBC television series "The Mason Twins." Currently, he is the voice behind GNC's advertising campaign "Beat Average."
Recognized as one of the top acting coaches worldwide, Mr. Papick has been teaching and coaching actors for 23 years. He recently served as the on-set acting coach for Dan Pritzker's upcoming film "Bolden," working closely with the legendary Dick Gregory. He is also known for his coaching work on Universal's hit "The Express," collaborating with director Gary Fleder (known for "Kiss the Girls," "Runaway Jury," and "October Road"). Mr. Papick was entrusted with eliciting the most profound, truthful, and specific performances from principal actors Dennis Quaid, Charles Dutton, Rob Brown, Darrin Dewitt Henson, and supporting cast members. Additionally, he was the on-set coach for Gus Van Sant's "Finding Forrester."
In the past year, he served as on-set coach for three feature films. Barry has provided coaching for actors on television productions including "The West Wing," "The Wire," "Malcolm in the Middle," "Body of Proof," "Brothers and Sisters," "Burn Notice," "The Originals," among many others. He has also been the personal on-set coach for Gus Van Sant and Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions. His coaching credits include work with actors such as Sean Connery, Rob Brown, Anna Paquin, He one Skye, Sonja Sohn, RZA, and Darrin Dewitt Henson.
Mr. Papick is also a writer, having authored the comedy pilot "Pearl" and the stage play "Ruby's Arms.
