Biografia
Maurizio Lombardi was born in Florence, Italy, in 1973. He began his acting training as a teenager with Ugo Chiti. Under the guidance of Gabriella Bartolomei and Franco di Francescantonio, he focused on developing his voice and body, cultivating a personal approach to using facial expressions and physicality as narrative tools. Additionally, he enhanced his education by studying dance and singing. Committed to excellence, Maurizio continuously refined his technique, including participating in workshops led by American acting coach Ivana Chubbuck in Italy and abroad.
Today, Maurizio is a recognized and versatile international actor, appearing in films, series, and live theater.

Since 2016, Maurizio has appeared in the HBO series *The Young Pope* and *The New Pope*, both by Academy Award winner Paolo Sorrentino, playing the significant role of Cardinal Mario Assente.
Earlier in his career, he featured in numerous films and TV series, including *Il ragazzo invisibile 2* by Academy Award winner Gabriele Salvatores, *Metti una notte* with Amanda Lear, and *All the Money in the World* directed by Ridley Scott.
Maurizio is also an active stage actor, touring extensively throughout Italy and internationally. In 2016, he was runner-up for the "Le Maschere del Teatro Italiano" Prize for Best Supporting Actor for his role in *The Pride* by Alexi Kaye Campbell, directed and performed alongside Luca Zingaretti.
A prolific author, Maurizio Lombardi runs his own production company, Velvet 9 Productions, through which he produces and co-produces his projects. These include *L'uomo Rondine*; the monologue *Fists of Sulfur*, which competed at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival; the musicals *Biancaneve* and *Peter Pan*; the one-man show *No Party*; and his latest work *Ho Visto Cose*, exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on the human condition, which sold out all four opening performances in March 2024.
