In September 2018, Leo Zimbron was appointed Head of Scripted Programming at Endemol Shine Boomdog.
A seasoned television and film producer, Zimbron manages all scripted content at the Mexico City-based studio.
Endemol Shine Boomdog recently premiered the successful drama "Nicky Jam: El Ganador" on Netflix and announced the upcoming drama "Subete a mi Moto," set to debut in 2020 on Amazon Prime Video. Zimbron also led the launch of the sitcom "Se Rentan Cuartos" on Comedy Central Latin America and is currently developing new scripted projects with actress and producer Kate Del Castillo ("La Reina del Sur") and her Cholawood Productions team, alongside acclaimed producer Gaston Pavlovich ("The Irishman").
Endemol Shine Boomdog was established two years ago following the merger of Endemol Shine North America’s Spanish language division, Endemol Shine Latino, with Mexico City-based production company Boomdog. The combined studio, with offices and production facilities in Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Miami, focuses on creating scripted and unscripted content for the U.S. Hispanic and Mexican television markets.
Zimbron boasts an extensive portfolio in film and TV production, having produced some of Mexico’s highest-grossing films and numerous hit TV series, including Netflix’s first Mexican original, "Club de Cuervos," which concluded after a successful fourth season.
Previously, Zimbron was a founding partner of Traziende Films. In 2013, he released "Nosotros los Nobles," Gary Alazraki’s debut film, which broke Mexican box office records and became the top film across all platforms in Mexico. Internationally, he produced hits like "Pulling Strings" and "Darker than Night," Mexico’s first 3D action movie.
He has been invited to speak at seminars and conferences across Mexico, the USA, the Dominican Republic, and Brazil, including the Miami International Film Festival, the International Meeting of Creative Industries in São Paulo, the World Forum of Investment in Cinema in Santo Domingo, and the Guanajuato and Guadalajara International Festivals. He has also represented Mexico at various international events through the Mexican Institute of Cinematography and Proméxico, and served as a jury member at international festivals such as the Tribeca Film Festival.
Additionally, Zimbron developed a digital distribution platform at Newborn Entertainment, where he was Content and Production Director. There, he created the world’s largest live 3D digital network at the time for Cinépolis, enabling the 2010 FIFA World Cup to be broadcast live on over 110 3D screens simultaneously.
