Jonathan Bogner Producer, Writer, Advocate, and Survivor Jonathan Bogner is a veteran film and television producer whose career has evolved from entertainment into advocacy and purpose-driven storytelling. A UCLA graduate, Bogner began his career at Deloitte while attending Law school before transitioning into music licensing and production. He went on to produce more than sixteen feature films, including Retriever, Hansel and Gretel, Miracle Dogs, Popstar, Supercross, Ace of Hearts, Trailer Park of Terror, and Soccer Mom. His music supervision and licensing work includes projects associated with The Doors, Men at Work, My Stepmother Is an Alien, Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, and ESPN. At age 45, Bogner suffered heart failure, two strokes, and aphasia, forcing him to relearn language and mathematics. Despite living with an implanted defibrillator and a progressively failing heart, he rebuilt his career in unscripted television, producing programs including Kim of Queens, My Five Wives, The Boonies, The Woodsmen, Dance Kids ATL, Flipping Divas, and Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch. Seventeen years after his diagnosis, Bogner underwent a life-saving heart transplant. His experiences inspired Alive, But Not Well, a television series exploring aging, caregiving, chronic illness, recovery, and survival. As the series’ creator, writer, producer, and on-camera guide, Bogner brings together patients, caregivers, advocates, physicians, therapists, nutritionists, and physical therapists. Rather than approaching interviews solely as a traditional host, he connects with guests as someone who has personally experienced serious illness, disability, transplantation, and recovery. Bogner also works with clients to create, package, and sell television programs. His life and work are guided by three principles: Rigorous Optimism, Rugged Flexibility, and Remarkable Resilience. His mission is to educate, inspire, and honor the patients, caregivers, medical professionals, advocates, organ donors, and donor families who make survival and second chances possible.
