Ryan has dedicated 40 years to the entertainment industry. He has collaborated with Academy Award winners such as Steven Spielberg, Robin Williams, Gwyneth Paltrow, Maggie Smith, and Dustin Hoffman in Hook, as well as Emmy Award winners Sela Ward and George Clooney on NBC's Sisters, where he was a series regular throughout its six-year run. Ryan has appeared in 100 national commercials, starring in campaigns for brands like Subaru, Coors Lite, and Twix. His voice can be heard on radio and television ads for McDonald's, Chevrolet, Taco Bell, CiCi's Pizza, and promotional spots for the CW network and CBS. He voiced the Patriot and other characters in the popular video game Hitman: Absolution.
In addition to acting, Ryan has produced numerous short films and music videos, including the feature films The Helix Loaded and Just Another Day in the Neighborhood, the latter filmed entirely in one day for under $10,000. Growing up on movie sets has been a lifelong experience, one that continues today. Recently, he has focused on writing and directing. His debut short film, Open 24 Hours, received excellent reviews and was selected for the 20th Arizona International Film Festival, the 3rd San Jose Short Film Festival, and the 14th Dances with Films. Ryan also wrote, directed, and produced the feature film Do Over, which was acquired by FreeStyle Media and secured worldwide distribution across all VOD platforms, including iTunes, Dish Network, Amazon Video, DirecTV, YouTube, PS4, and XBOX.
Beyond his entertainment career, Ryan is a versatile athlete who earned letters in football and soccer, contributing to a team that defeated the number two team in California on its way to the semi-finals of the California Southern Section Tournament. However, it was baseball where he set enduring state and school records. He was named All-Westside, All-Outlook, and All-Ocean League in consecutive years. Additionally, Ryan earned a tennis trophy by winning the Adidas Desert Challenge in Mixed Doubles and won a belt buckle in team penning at a rodeo in North Carolina.
