Biografia
David grew up in Montreal, Canada, and by age 18, he was starring in the CTV daily soap opera Time of Your Life. After 75 episodes, he left the show to complete his degree in Musical Theater at Emerson College in Boston, graduating on time by taking extra courses. In 1991, he moved to Los Angeles and made a deal with his parents: he would spend a year trying to make it as an actor or return to school for an MBA. By the end of that year, he had landed a lead role in a movie of the week, a commercial, and a guest-starring role, setting his career in motion. Soon after, he secured the lead in Reality Check (on YouTube), created by Kaufman, Bright, and Crane, the team behind Friends. Warner Bros. Television President Leslie Moonves discovered David, cast him in another pilot, and eventually placed him on the hit show Full House as DJ’s boyfriend, Viper. Following that, he starred in 26 episodes of Misguided Angels for FOX Family and went on to appear in over 60 films and 200 television episodes. Transitioning from high school roles to leading man and then to playing fathers had its challenges, and during this time, David began teaching acting with Ivana Chubbuck both in Los Angeles and internationally. This experience led to coaching actors on set and gave him insight into filmmaking, sparking his move into directing and producing. Over the first three years of the pandemic, he directed his first three films and has remained active ever since. Writing came about almost by chance when, while on location waiting for a film to regain funding, he wrote A Christmas Letter (aired on UPTV Christmas 2023). That script was optioned multiple times before production. He has since written two more produced features: The Unwilling and Hunt Club (released April 2023). In October 2021, David partnered with Robert A. Daly Jr., son of the renowned Warner Brothers Chairman and CEO Robert A. Daly, to form Latigo Films. Within their first 18 months, Latigo produced six films and continues to maintain an ambitious production schedule, handling development, casting, crew, filming, post-production, delivery, and sales and distribution.
