Barry Hugh Crocker was born on 4 November 1935 in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. He was married to Dene Crocker, with whom he had five children: Geraldine, Martine, Erica, Barry, and Amanda. They had nine grandchildren: Camilla, Bianca, Jessica, Lee, Aaron, Caleb, James, and Stacey; as well as five great-grandchildren: Wade, Amber, Ezekial, Zara, and Lillie. In 1990, Crocker began a relationship with actress Katie Manning. An Australian character actor, television personality, singer, and variety entertainer, Crocker is known for his crooning vocal style and iconic roles in Australian films of the 1970s, including The Adventures of Barry McKenzie and its sequel Barry McKenzie Holds His Own. He later became the presenter and lead performer on the television series The Sound of Music, succeeding entertainer Bobby Limb, which earned him a Gold Logie in 1970 as Australia's top male television personality. His singing career garnered him over 30 Gold records. In 1971, The Sound of Music ranked as the 11th most popular show in Australia. From 1985 to 1992, Crocker performed the theme song for the Australian soap opera Neighbours. In 2003, he published his autobiography titled Bazza - The Adventures of Barry Crocker.
