Biografia
Marcelo Alejandro Alonso Claro is a Chilean actor born in Santiago. He holds a degree in Acting from the Department of Theatre at the Faculty of Arts, University of Chile. He has two half-brothers.
He made his television debut in 1994 on Champaña and later secured recurring roles. In 2004, he appeared in series such as Los Pincheira, Los Capo, Cómplices, Corazón de María, Viuda Alegre, and Los Exitosos Pells. In 2009, he portrayed General Juan de Dios Vergudo in Conde Vrolok. In 2011, he played the antagonist Esteban Donoso in El Laberinto de Alicia. The following year, he joined Reserva de Familia as Pedro Serrano, the adopted son of vineyard owner Fernando Ruiz-Tagle (Nelson Villagra), the setting of the story.
In 2013, he starred in Socias as Federico Ibáñez, a married man having an affair with Monserrat Silva (Paola Volpato). In 2014, he featured in the TV series Vuelve Temprano as Francisco Valenzuela. He then portrayed Father Raimundo Zisternas in La Poseída (2015), based on the 19th-century life of Carmen Marín, known as "La Endemoniada de Santiago," set in Santiago.
His film credits include Post Mortem (2010), directed by Pablo Larraín; La Mujer de Iván (2011), by Franco Silva; El Club (2015); and Neruda (2016), starring Gael García Bernal.
Alonso has also performed in stage productions such as Ibsen's Casa de Muñecas, Rodrigo Bazaes's Boca Arriba, and Tim Crouch's Un Roble. He has directed several plays, including Juan Radrigán's Las Brutas and Yukio Mishima's Madame de Sade. Additionally, he serves as a professor at various local universities.
From 2000 to 2004, he was in a relationship with Italian actress Alessandra Guerzoni. He is currently partnered with Chilean actress Amparo Noguera.
