Matt Knudsen (pronounced Kah-nood-sen) is an actor, comedian, and best-selling author originally from Hawaii, raised in the Midwest, who once sailed the globe as a merchant marine. After voyages through Europe, Africa, and the Far East, he settled down, grabbed a microphone, and began touring the nation with his stand-up comedy.
As an actor, Matt has appeared alongside Oscar winners such as Michael Douglas, Alan Arkin, and Sean Penn, and has featured in numerous Emmy and Golden Globe-winning TV shows including Key & Peele, Workaholics, The Big Bang Theory, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The League, NCIS, Big Love, Boston Legal, and Malcolm in the Middle. He currently recurs as Steven in Bill Lawrence's popular AppleTV+ series Shrinking, starring Harrison Ford and Jason Segel.
On the comedy circuit, Matt has performed on Conan, The Late Late Show, Last Call, and Comics Unleashed. His latest stand-up special, Good News, produced by Dry Bar Comedy, has garnered millions of views across their platforms. His acclaimed albums—The Comedy Stylings of Matt Knudsen, American, and Yes And—are regularly played on SiriusXM and Pandora, praised by The Huffington Post as “finely crafted comedy from a strong central voice.”
