Sheena Chou will experience a memorable character journey in season 3 of Judd Apatow's "Love," portraying Patty, an overly enthusiastic fight coordinator. Recently, Chou appeared on CBS's "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" and ABC/Shonda Rhimes' "The Catch."
In "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders," Chou plays Sara Yee, a hopeful romantic who unknowingly goes on a date with a charming serial killer, while the lead detectives race against time to save her. In "The Catch," she portrays Fumiko, a solemn and lovely woman who becomes distraught after the restaurant she manages shuts down mysteriously. On NBC's "The Player," starring Wesley Snipes and Philip Winchester, Chou plays the Angel, a damsel in distress confronting a terrifying serial killer.
Chou is currently filming a lead role in the action feature "Unspoken: Diary of an Assassin," directed by Ron Yuan. She plays Blunt Girl, an unlikely mercenary skilled in both assassination and rolling the perfect blunt. By day a music video vixen, by night a deadly assassin, Blunt Girl combines fierce combat skills with subtle comedic flair. This independent, action-packed thriller features a stellar international and U.S. cast, including Zoe Bell, Will Yun Lee, Russell Wong, Ian Anthony Dale, Kelly Hu, Brian Tee, Mao Asao, Chihiro Kurata, and Ron Yuan.
Sheena Chou can also be seen in Jesse V. Johnson's action film "Savage Dog," playing Samsip-Sam, a feisty and strong-willed bar manager opposite Scott Adkins ("Expendables 2") and Keith David ("Crash," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith").
Chou recently completed work on the sci-fi revenge film "White Space," directed by Ken Locsmandi, where she plays a sultry but deadly Lifen alongside Holt McCallany ("Mindhunters") and Ron Yuan ("Marco Polo"). She was cast in Marvel's "Doctor Strange," directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Rachel McAdams.
In Simon West's "Wild Card," scripted by William Goldman and starring Jason Statham, Chou plays the sympathetic bartender friend to Statham's gambling-addicted character, Nick. The ensemble cast includes Stanley Tucci, Sofia Vergara, Milo Ventimiglia, Hope Davis, and Michael Angarano.
Chou was cast as Officer of the Deck (OOD) Kane in Michael Bay's TNT series "The Last Ship," directed by Jack Bender. In "From the Head," she plays Molly, the spunky and rebellious girlfriend of Mathew Lillard's character. She portrayed Li Jing, an ill-fated beauty, in HBO/Cinemax's "Black Salt," a live-action comic book adaptation directed by Ben Ramsey ("Big Hit," "Blood & Bone"). Chou’s voice can be heard in "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" and as the Mandarin voice for Ritz-Carlton.
Additionally, Chou starred in three music video campaigns. In "What If," she appears as a cancer-stricken heroine breaking hearts. In P. Diddy/Bad Boy Entertainment's "No More," she plays a deadly assassin on a revenge mission. In Asia's biggest female rapper Miss Ko's "Let It Go," Chou delivers a powerful, emotional performance as young Ko's mother. MC Lyte personally sought Chou after seeing her heartfelt work in "What If," casting her in the rapper's comeback hits "Cravin" and "Ball."
Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Chou was nurtured by her loving deaf aunt. She enjoyed spending time with boys and started playing poker at just three years old with her uncles and five male cousins. Today, she continues to enjoy hanging out with guys, honing her boxing, martial arts, and motorcycle skills, while playing Texas Hold 'Em and shooting Airsoft guns when possible. While balancing full-time studies at UCLA and an internship at Merrill Lynch, Chou was cast as a series lead on MTV's "Burned," which ignited her passion for acting.
Driven by this passion, Chou was cast in "Shanghai Hotel," the BronzeLens Festival Best Film winner, a tragic story about human trafficking and forced prostitution. Though the casting was based in New York, Chou felt compelled to self-tape for the role before self-taping was common. Impressed by her audition, director Jerry Allen Davis cast her immediately and flew her to NYC. She plays Ting Na, a young woman trafficked from China to Brooklyn, NY, who turns her fears into ambition as she works to pay off her debt and escape the brothel. Her co-stars include Hill Harper, Eugenia Yuan, Ron Yuan, and Cheng Pei Pei.
Her past roles include Pieti, a gambling prodigy in the poker fan film "Aces," and a harem beauty in 20th Century Fox's comedy hit "Meet the Spartans." Chou has also appeared in numerous commercial campaigns for Apple iPad, Facebook, Samsung, CareerBuilder.com, Panda Express, Walmart, Herbal Essences, T-Mobile, KFC, and OnStar; national print campaigns for US Trust, LensCrafters, U.S. Postal Service, Bank of America, and Apple Computers; as well as international TV campaigns for Budweiser, Intel, and Western Union.
